Define what should move and why
We map systems, data, owners and the events that trigger each exchange. Not every connection needs real time processing; some work well with scheduled batches. Primary records, required fields and necessary transformations are identified. This prevents two tools from competing to change the same information or an automation from spreading incorrect data into other departments without an appropriate validation step.
Design for errors as well as success
We assess available APIs, exchange files and mechanisms authorized by each provider. Authentication, validation, usage limits and operation logs are designed into the connection. Retries must avoid duplicating sales, payments or stock movements. When a service is unavailable, alerts and recovery paths are defined. Sensitive information and credentials are handled through controls appropriate to the environment and agreed project scope.
Connections that can be maintained
Normal cases, incomplete data and foreseeable failures are tested before activation. Documentation explains fields, dependencies and support responsibilities. Provider changes can require future adjustments, so monitoring and maintenance are proposed. Useful indicators include processed records, delays and pending errors. Your team should understand how to review an incident, which system is affected and who is responsible for resolving the problem.
