What the provider announced
On October 5, 2026, Cloudflare published its Birthday Week recap covering announcements from September 28 to October 2. These include general availability for Basin and AI Search, alongside observability tools. Other initiatives remain in beta or on a waiting list. Our interpretation is that these developments deserve technical evaluation without assuming every feature is suitable for every business. Begin with a specific infrastructure limitation you need to resolve. A new capability gains business value when it improves an actual service and the team understands how to operate it, support it and pay for it over time.
Describe the workload before choosing a platform
Prepare a system profile covering users, data volume, peak periods, integrations, storage requirements and the consequences of interruption. Distinguish an informational website from an application processing orders or handling internal documents. Establish which information may leave current systems and who authorises that movement. We recommend comparing alternatives against the same workload. Without this reference, one capacity offer may look inexpensive while another appears costly even though they solve different problems. Involve the application maintainer, the person reviewing invoices and the person accountable for service delivery. Their different perspectives make missing requirements visible before a migration becomes difficult to reverse.
A pilot should test everyday operations
Use an appropriate data sample and a separate environment to check deployment, permissions, logs, alerts and recovery. Reproduce a foreseeable error and observe whether the team can diagnose it without depending entirely on the provider. Test performance from connections similar to those used by customers, especially when serving several regions of Peru. A global average does not necessarily describe an individual customer's experience. Record which improvements come from the platform and which come from code changes, caching or smaller files. This helps attribute results correctly and prevents a technology comparison from becoming a competition between differently optimised versions of an application.
Budget for the whole service
Include execution, storage, transfers, queries, logs, support and administration time. Model normal operation, growth and an unexpected traffic spike. Verify current features and prices when contracting; a product announcement does not replace a commercial proposal. Assign project owners for spending and configure understandable alerts. Ask how data can be exported, how long an exit would take and which components would require rewriting. The ability to change providers belongs in the design even when there is no immediate intention to leave. A realistic budget should explain both expected monthly operation and the resources needed to manage unusual events.
Migrate against acceptance criteria
Before moving production, agree on the conditions for approval: verified functionality, acceptable response times, tested recovery and available owners. Keep a rollback window and retain the previous environment until the new service has been checked. AWS's Well-Architected Framework provides an additional reference for discussing architectural quality, even when the selected provider is different. Dialesoft's proposed practice is to finish each cloud decision with a short record explaining its purpose, estimated cost and unresolved risks. That record supports continuity when staff or suppliers change. It turns a migration into a decision the company can revisit with evidence rather than a permanent commitment to a fashionable product.
